This Dallas suburb will be one of the next cities to install electric-vehicle charging stations. Local mechanics will be closing their garage doors in Garland, Texas if the city has its way, or, they’ll be forced to learn how to repair electric cars. With city officials behind the project and other locations across Texas agreeing to install the stations, it won’t be long before a network of charging stations will allow electric car owners to drive across the country and find a charging station wherever they need. But “they’ll still have to park somewhere,” say optimistic garage door services in Garland, “and we’ll keep repairing or installing garage doors as needed.”
