A Jersey City area hospital has recently become the first hospital in the state to sign on to the EPA’s Green Team program. The program aims to curb energy consumption and cut waste, and make the hospital more environmentally friendly. One of the main ways it will do this is by installing solar panels on the roof and garage doors of the Jersey City, New Jersey area hospital. These panels will produce over 250,000 kilowatt hours of energy annually, reducing carbon emissions by 176 tons a year. Officials behind the project hope the venture will catch on and more institutions will be hiring garage door services in Jersey City to install solar panels.
