Garage door services in Saint Petersburg, Florida are calling on residents to install carbon monoxide detectors after three people were hospitalized because of carbon monoxide poisoning. The incident occurred after a vehicle was left running behind the garage doors of a Saint Petersburg apartment building. Luckily, someone noticed a sick person and called paramedics who identified two people exhibiting signs of carbon monoxide poisoning. The two were treated and later released. Firefighters pulled the fire alarm to alert residents and evacuate the building before conducting a search for more residents, after which they discovered an unconscious 64-year-old woman. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Authorities identified the owner of the car who explained that she left the vehicle running by accident.
