An affluent community in Denver has been the target of a series of break-ins in which a number of homes on a particular street are targeted in a single night. According to police, the thieves look for easy-access goods like unlocked cars or open garage doors in the Denver, Colorado area. While the items stolen are of relatively minimal value, such as iPods, golf clubs and GPS devices, there are more serious dangers like thieves collecting personal information or stealing garage door openers, enabling them to return and perpetrate the crimes again. Officials said some of the precautions residents should take in Denver include contacting garage door services to secure doors, keeping an outside light on and locking first-floor windows.
