This Denver suburb became the temporary home to thousands of residents in the summer of 2011 after hurricane Irene derailed a train in Nebraska. As the Amtrak California Zephyr route became temporarily shut down for a number of days, visitors as well as local residents were stuck indefinitely in Colorado.
