A Chula Vista home was severely damaged in September of 2011 when the garage went up in flames. The smoke billowing from the house could be seen for miles and the heat could be felt as much as fifty feet away. While the fire was raging the owners of the house were inside but unaware of the blaze. Luckily a neighbor and former firefighter called 911 and ran to the house to get everyone out. While the cause of the fire has not yet been determined, authorities are investigating whether it may have been a result of a chemical reaction or an electrical glitch in the garage doors of this Chula Vista, California home. If it was the latter, the local Chula Vista garage door service that installed the door may be responsible for the blaze.
