A Tempe family recently experienced a double tragedy when their home was the victim of both arson as well as a burglary. At about 4:30 a.m. a fire started behind the Tempe, Arizona home’s garage doors and quickly spread to the rest of the house. The residents managed to escape unharmed, but then they discovered that items from within the garage had been partially strewn across the lawn and some were missing. Fire fighters managed to extinguish the flames but the garage was destroyed. Police are trying to determine if the fire was part of the burglary or if it occurred independently of it. They’ve enlisted the help of Tempe garage door services as well as other electric experts to examine whether the fire could have been started by a malfunction and not arson.
