The city of Phoenix has recently approved plans for the construction of a $17 million parking garage downtown. According to the developer, when the new garage doors open in Phoenix, Arizona, hundreds of jobs will be created and it will provide parking for the growing Phoenix Biomedical Campus. However, not everyone is happy with the prospect of a huge garage going up in the middle of downtown Phoenix. One vocal community advocate says the garage is unnecessary and detrimental to pedestrians in the area. While the city has okayed the plans and already contacted building contractors, garage door services, and other Phoenix construction experts, the advocate says he’s not giving up the fight.
